A pair of Connecticut lawyers have pleaded guilty to bilking banks and lending companies out of more than $10 million by participating in a mortgage scheme that involved fraudulent purchases of at least 40 multi-family homes in New Haven.

According to prosecutors, Bradford Rieger, 56, who has an office in East Haven, and Jeffrey Weisman, 43, who has an office in Waterbury, helped buyers obtain mortgages for properties by entering falsely inflated numbers on government paperwork used to secure the loans.
