Becky McClain v. Pfizer Inc.: The U.S. Court of Appeals of Second Circuit has affirmed a Connecticut federal court award of $2.3 million to a former Pfizer employee who blew the whistle on the company for allegedly unsafe working conditions.

Becky McClain, a former molecular biologist at the drug manufacturer’s Groton facility, claims she was exposed to a virus that has since caused her periodic paralysis, joint pain and fatigue. She says viruses that are essentially created and tested in Pfizer labs to combat specific diseases have the capability of infecting co-workers and the public at large.
