Carlos Prada et al. v. Robert Maloy et al.: The family of a boy who was struck and killed by a town truck while walking to school has recovered $4.1 million in a settlement with the town of Stratford.

According to a lawyer for the family, Carlos Prada Jr., 13, an eighth-grader at Flood Intermediate School in Stratford, was walking to school at about 7:20 a.m. on April 28, 2008. As he was crossing East Main Street at a crosswalk to his bus stop, he was hit by a town-owned dump truck that was towing a wood chipper.
