Michael Skakel continues to make legal news months after being granted a new trial on charges that he murdered one of his teenage neighbors in Greenwich in 1975. A federal judge in Hartford said Skakel can proceed with a slander suit against television host Nancy Grace, who allegedly suggested during a broadcast that Skakel left DNA at the murder scene.

Grace, whose talk show runs on the HLN cable network, which is owned by Turner Broadcasting System, and three codefendants had asked for the 2012 lawsuit to be dismissed. “We are aware of the ruling and we are evaluating the next steps,” said Turner spokeswoman Alison Rudnick.
