A proposal to build Connecticut’s first wind farm in the state’s Northwest Corner has crossed a major hurdle, with the Connecticut Supreme Court affirming a decision by the Superior Court and rejecting a challenge brought from opponents. In a unanimous decision, justices found the Connecticut Siting Council did in fact have jurisdiction to approve the wind turbine project of West Hartford-based BNA energy.

The proposed wind farm proposed by BNE Energy Inc. has been in and out of court since 2010 over its plans to establish the commercial wind farm in the Litchfield County town of Colebrook.
