Gina Phillips v. Peerless Insurance Co. A woman who sustained back injuries and needed surgery after a car ran a red light and crashed into her pickup truck has settled her lawsuit for $672,500.

Gina Phillips was driving her 2007 Chevrolet Silverado along Willetts Avenue in New London at 12:45 p.m. on Sept. 4, 2008. When she reached the intersection with Ocean Avenue, a Cadillac DeVille, driven by Bernard Taylor, 29, ran a red light and smashed into the driver’s side of Phillips’ pickup.
