It’s a good time to be working in a small firm.

Amy Lin Meyerson, a solo practitioner in Weston who focuses on business and general corporate law, says that many companies have been moving to hire smaller law firms with lower overhead—and fees—in the wake of the 2008 recession. Technology also is allowing “small law firms to compete in the marketplace,” she says.
