First, I thank the people of Connecticut for their vote of confidence in electing me to a second term as attorney general. I am excited to continue the important work of protecting the public interest of Connecticut and its citizens.

The responsibilities of my office present many complex legal and administrative issues. I am well served by the first-rate assistance provided by Perry Zinn Rowthorn as deputy attorney general, and by my senior associates as well as the office’s talented and dedicated staff of professionals. Day in and day out, they provide the state with the best legal services possible. Their work has generated more than $565 million last fiscal year—more than $19 for every dollar spent on an operating budget of $30.2 million. It’s also saved the state many millions of additional dollars, through the vigorous defense of the state and state officials in hundreds of lawsuits.
