A Windsor Locks teen who was taken from her mother’s custody and forced to undergo chemotherapy for her cancer will not be permitted to refuse further medical treatments, the Connecticut Supreme Court ruled on Jan. 8.

The 17-year-old girl, known only as Cassandra C., remains in a hospital room at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. Under the court’s decision, she will continue to receive chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s lymphoma against her will.
