Daniel Ferreira v. Charles Ward: A man who was assaulted by his girlfriend’s stepfather with a baseball bat has been awarded more than $113,000 following a hearing in damages in the Judicial District of Fairfield at Bridgeport.

On March 18, 2010, Daniel Ferreira was living with his girlfriend, Amber Staffa, and their infant son in Bridgeport. On that day, Ferreira and Staffa had a domestic dispute that prompted Staffa to ask her mother to take her and the baby to the mother’s house in Milford. Later that day, Ferreira arrived at the mother’s home wanting to see his son. Ferreira entered the house. Staffa’s stepfather, Charles Ward, told him to leave.
