U.S. ex rel. Fragoules v. Daiichi Sankyo: A global pharmaceutical company has agreed to a $39 million settlement with the federal government and 49 states, including Connecticut, over allegations that its executives paid kickbacks to induce physicians to prescribe drugs.

Connecticut is slated to receive $104,628 as part of the Medicaid portion of the settlement. The state will also receive an additional $79,550 to go toward state-funded prescription drug programs administered by the Connecticut Department of Social Services.
