Four Connecticut state troopers have filed a federal lawsuit against the Connecticut State Police Union (CSPU) and the state for allegedly violating their rights and refusing to follow federal reporting requirements.
The lawsuit, backed by the National Right to Work Foundation, centers on the rights of workers who do not want to be part of a labor union or to file full union dues. According to the foundation, state trooper Marc Lamberty resigned from formal union membership in the CSPU in June 2011. Troopers Joseph Mercer, Carson Konow and Collin Konow did so in November 2014.
