Martin Fagan III v. Black & Boucher LLC, et al.: A man who suffered a permanent brain injury following a motorcycle accident has recovered $3.5 million in a settlement with a company contracted to repair the Berlin Turnpike. Martin Fagan III, 69, of Northford, filed a lawsuit against a construction company and the state after crashing his motorcycle on a stretch of road where the asphalt surface had been stripped away.

Fagan was riding along Route 15 in Meriden on the evening of June 29, 2011. He was operating his Honda Valkyrie motorcycle without a helmet.
