A Bethel couple and their severely disabled son have failed in an emergency bid to obtain a security lien against two of Connecticut’s most prominent law firms.

Domenic and Cathy D’Attilo, and their 11-year-old son Danny, sued Bridgeport-based Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder and Hartford-based Day Pitney last December. They allege the Koskoff lawyers took payments of $7 million in contingency fees in a medical malpractice case when they were only entitled to $2.7 million.
