A Stamford attorney has been sentenced to 14 months in federal prison for his role in a mortgage fraud scheme that caused lenders to lose more than $8 million.

U.S. District Judge Janet Hall imposed the sentence on Oct. 1 on Christopher Brecciano, 37. After he serves his sentence, Brecciano will be on supervised release for five years. Hall also ordered Brecciano to pay $8.4 million in restitution.
