Chase Corcoran v. State of Connecticut: A former student at Norwich Technical High School who aspired to become a carpenter has recovered $185,000 in a settlement with the state after losing parts of two fingers to a power saw during a school project.

On March 7, 2008, Chase Corcoran, 17, traveled to Montville to build a garage for a homeowner as part of a supervised project within his technical high school curriculum. The teacher supervising the students was Brian Charron.
