Just hours after a federal appeals court upheld a Connecticut gun control law approved in the wake of the Newtown school shooting, lawyers representing a group of Second Amendment advocates say they plan to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to review the case.

At the same time, the Oct. 19 decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in Shew v. Malloy prompted swift and emotional reaction in Connecticut, with politicians, attorneys and gun rights advocates all weighing in.
