A Stamford law firm is suing two lawyers from Bridgeport’s Ganim family, claiming it deserves a bigger share of the $2.55 million in attorney fees from personal injury litigation that ultimately settled for $10.65 million.

Attorneys Stewart Casper and Victoria de Toledo say they largely took over a personal injury lawsuit from the Ganim brothers and ultimately reached the eight-figure settlement. Nevertheless, according to the partners in Casper & de Toledo, the Ganims continue to assert that they should receive 75 percent of the attorney fees in the case. But Casper and de Toledo claim their firm’s significant involvement in trial preparation, the trial itself and subsequent settlement negotiations should entitle them to more than 25 percent of the legal fees.
