Day Pitney has chosen two women attorneys for key leadership rolls. Heather Weine Brochin, a partner in the employment and labor practice, will become managing partner of the 72-attorney New Jersey office in Parsippany on Jan. 1. Her appointment comes just three months after corporate attorney Ellen Knarr was appointed managing partner of the 26-lawyer New York office.
Both women are under 40 years old. Both were selected for their new roles by Day Pitney’s executive committee, according to firmwide managing partner Stanley Twardy Jr., who is in charge of the firm’s five Connecticut offices. Twardy stopped short of declaring a youth movement or saying that Day Pitney, which has about 260 attorneys in all, is ahead of the curve when it comes to women in leadership roles, but said gender and racial diversity is a point of emphasis for the firm.
