A retired New Britain pediatrician who died on Dec. 26 is the target of six state lawsuits which claim he sexually abused his young patients, and more claims are expected to be filed.
Dr. Robert Rackliffe of Farmington, a pediatrician for over 50 years, had denied any wrongdoing before his death at age 92, and he asserted his conduct during patient examinations were medically necessary. The litigation is expected to continue in spite of Rackliffe’s death, though it will target his estate.
