Often, the new year brings seismic change to Connecticut’s legal community. Sometimes that manifests itself in firms merging or adding entire practice groups, occasionally at the expense of a rival firm. To date, it would appear, 2016 has not brought those sorts of major changes.

But that doesn’t mean all is quiet. Recent weeks have brought news of Connecticut firms opening new law offices in the state—and even out of state. Big firms have announced new leaders of Connecticut offices, bypassing the good ol’ boy network in doing so. Senior members of the legal establishment have moved to new roles. And, of course, firms of all sizes are announcing newly promoted partners.
