In December 2014, a solo attorney representing two parents and a handicapped child made a shocking accusation: one of Connecticut’s most successful plaintiffs firms had collected $4.3 million more in legal fees than it was entitled to following the settlement of a high-profile medical-malpractice case.
Until now, the charges levied by Bethany attorney Howard Altschuler against Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder have been primarily aired in legal documents and public interviews. Now the matter will move into a more formal setting, as the Statewide Grievance Committee is scheduled to hold a Feb. 4 hearing on accusations against partners Michael Koskoff and Kathleen Nastri.
