Terry Wasilewski v. Abel Womack Inc.: A woman whose leg was crushed and later amputated after a forklift accident at work has recovered $5.27 million in a products liability lawsuit from a U.S. District Court jury in Bridgeport.
Terry Wasilewski, 58, of Foster, R.I., worked at the Dayville distribution center for Rite Aid Corp. One of her lawyers, Frank McCoy of McCoy & McCoy in Hartford, said she was a forklift operator at the large facility. He said Rite Aid retail stores would place orders for products and she would operate a forklift in the RX department getting pallets of medical supplies off of the shelves to ready for delivery.
