A former Newington attorney charged with stealing about $48,000 from a disabled client while acting as the man’s conservator has entered a no contest plea to a larceny charge. Michael Schless is scheduled to be sentenced March 18 in New Britain Superior Court.

If he can make full restitutuion by then, he can avoid incarceration. Under the terms of a plea agreement, he would be sentenced to five years of conditional discharge, with up to 10 years imprisonment hanging over him if he were to violate any conditions imposed by the judge.
