Two years ago, Hartford wanted to bring a professional soccer team to the state’s capital. But when plans fell through and the city lost more than a million dollars to companies who were supposed to be overseeing stadium renovations, it instead opted to bring a lawsuit.
In a Superior Court filing, the city is looking to recoup money allegedly lost to Premier Sports Management Group (PSMG), Black Diamond Consulting Group (BDCG) and the companies’ owners. “As part of their combined operation, [Premier Sports Management Group] and Black Diamond Consulting Group jointly and deliberately schemed to unlawfully obtain funds from the city and cause certain of the funds to be transferred to and/or for the benefit of Black Diamond” and its owners, according to the lawsuit.
