State Judicial Branch leaders are predicting that Gov. Dannel Malloy’s latest budget plan would mean an additional 600 layoffs. An initial group of 110 employees is expected to learn this week that their positions are likely to be cut.

Chief Court Administrator Patrick L. Carroll III, in a May 2 letter to Malloy, said the governor’s plan would be “both unprecedented and catastrophic in its consequences.”
