More staffing cutbacks in the state’s courts and delayed raises for judges appear to be on the horizon as lawmakers work to finalize the state budget today.
The state Senate on Thursday approved a spending plan which would reduce the previously approved budgets for the Judicial Branch and other court-related departments, a plan expected to result in significant layoffs and courthouse closures.
