Connecticut is slated to receive more than $16 million as part of a $570 million national settlement between more than 40 states and Volkswagen over its emissions cheating scandal.

On Tuesday, the German automaker agreed to spend up to $15.3 billion to settle various consumer lawsuits and government allegations that it programmed cars with 2.0-liter diesel engines to cheat on U.S. emissions tests. The settlement is believed to be the largest auto-related class-action settlement in U.S. history.
