A Connecticut inmate who claims mental health staff at the Northern Correctional Institute ignored his pleas for treatment will be allowed to move forward with his case following an Aug. 2 federal court ruling.

Jose Jusino, who is serving a life sentence for murder, alleges that prison officials have refused to enroll him in a prison mental health program or provide appropriate medication, instead brushing off his suicide attempts to immaturity and a desire for attention.
