State officials announced Thursday that they will appeal a trial judge’s landmark ruling last week that called Connecticut’s education funding system unconstitutional.

Hartford Superior Court Judge Thomas Moukawsher also asked the state to make sweeping reforms over the next six months. State Attorney General George Jepsen is now asking the state Supreme Court to weigh in on the case before lawmakers go to the trouble of making changes.
