Following a well-worn path of law firms shortening their names, Danbury-based Ventura, Ribeiro and Smith will now go by Ventura Law, the firm announced Monday.

The personal injury, real estate and estate planning firm, which has 15 lawyers and five offices in Connecticut and New York, said it chose the new name in part to honor founding partner Americo Ventura, who started the firm in 1957.
