The Connecticut Supreme Court will only hear six cases, two dealing with the so-called firefighter’s rule, when it opens for its sixth session Tuesday.

The unusually short calendar includes two separate cases from Connecticut police officers trying to hold property owners responsible for injuries they sustained on the job. Lower courts granted motions from the defendants in both cases to dismiss the complaints citing the state firefighter’s rule.
