A Connecticut family who claimed a gastroenterologist failed to inform them of the dangers of two medications used to treat their late son’s Crohn’s disease was awarded a $6.8 million jury verdict.
The six-person Hartford Superior Court jury rendered its decision after four hours of deliberation on Feb. 17. Judge Thomas Moukawsher has not yet signed the verdict since the doctor’s attorneys have until March 10 to ask that the award be set aside.
