Attorneys who specialize in marijuana laws are keeping a close eye on Connecticut as the state considers expanding legalization to recreational use, especially as rumors circulate that the U.S. Department of Justice could crack down on states by using federal laws.
Bloomfield attorney Aaron Romano, a longtime legalization advocate, told the Connecticut Law Tribune Tuesday that attorneys nationally “have been discussing and speculating” about how to respond if the Justice Department led by U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, an ardent opponent of marijuana use, were to crack down on citizens or states that have legalized cannabis.
