A Connecticut sporting goods and equipment supplier has filed a lawsuit against a company it once did business with in an attempt to stem off a potential patent lawsuit.

In its April 11 federal lawsuit, Pawcatuck-based Anthem Sports LLC and Global Products LLC claim that once a working relationship with Cincinnati-based Under The Weather (UTW) LLC fizzled, Anthem was threatened with a patent lawsuit when it switched to a new supplier for a product called Anthem Pods. The product, which resembles a small tent that can fit a chair, shelters sporting participants from inclement weather.
