It is a fact of life that larger law firms with their in-house marketing departments, outside public relations and advertising agencies and various organizational and business consultants have far greater marketing resources than do smaller firms. Nevertheless, there are many proven big-firm marketing strategies that can be easily adapted for smaller firms. Here are a few examples:

� Sales Training. Many large firms offer sales training workshops for their lawyers-often by enlisting out-of-state specialists to conduct very intensive programs within a narrow timeframe. Conversely, individuals can register for cost-effective, community-based, self-help programs sponsored by Dale Carnegie Training and the Sandler Sales Institute that include other local businesspeople as well.
