Lawyers for the city of Waterbury are up to their eyeballs in major legal issues-such as a municipal corruption probe and an overhaul of city government under new mayor Michael Jarjura. But those and other legal imbroglios mean the city’s corporation counsel’s office is also being flooded with another kind of legal question: Freedom of Information Act requests.
But the Brass City’s lawyers have taken the tack that openness is probably the best policy right now, and have racked up a record of trying to reply to FOIA inquiries quickly and definitively.
