When New London Prosecutor Kevin Kane abruptly concluded the state’s case in chief in the murder-for-hire case against Elizabeth Ann Carpenter March 19, he dispensed with a tale of foreign intrigue.
And although Kane won’t comment on the reasons behind his strategy, it may boil down to his personal instincts as a prosecutor.
