Advertising, along with the telecommunications industry, has been especially hard hit by the economic slowdown. As a result, advertisers have negotiated some fairly amazing deals, things that might have seemed to good to be true or even impossible just a short while ago. A recent Wall Street Journal article highlighted two such examples. In the first, fast food chain Wendy’s negotiated to have Rosie O’Donnell eat one of their new salads on the air during her popular daytime TV show. The deal was struck as part of Wendy’s overall media buy, which included standard ads which were run during the Rosie show.
