The economic malaise and contributions to Sept. 11th-related causes have done little to deter Hartford-area lawyers from supporting legal services.

In fact, when Greater Hartford Legal Assistance Inc.’s fundraising arm tallied up totals from its 2001-02 campaign, which ended April 30, it got a welcomed surprise: contributions to the Capital Area Foundation For Equal Justice actually rose by 7.7 percent over the prior year.
