On the surface, the 50th annual meeting of the Connecticut Bar Foundation was a sparkling moment to bask in the public-spirited accomplishments of some of the finest lawyers and judges in the state. But it, and the nation, may be facing dark times.
The 175 bar foundation fellows and guests who gathered at the New Haven Lawn Club June 11 looked back on solid accomplishments in two main areas — providing funding for legal services for the poor, and elevating the public discourse on legal affairs.
