The former brother-in-law of New York Yankees hitter Alex Rodriguez has filed suit in Miami-Dade Circuit Court, claiming A-Rod went behind his back on real estate deals and cut him out of the profits.

Constantine Scurtis' breach of contract complaint claims the baseball star reneged on an agreement to invest in property in the Edgewater neighborhood, an emerging real estate hot spot just north of downtown Miami.

Rodriguez's marriage to Scurtis' sister, Cynthia, ended in a bitter and expensive divorce in 2008. Terms of the settlement weren't disclosed, but she moved to keep the couple's $12 million Florida home.
