West Palm Beach attorney David Prather has withdrawn his candidacy for president-elect of the Florida Bar, citing his mother's failing health as the reason.
Prather, a partner with Clark, Fountain, La Vista, Prather, Keen & Littky-Rubin, had been working toward becoming president of the third largest Bar organization for several years and garnered a long list of prominent supporters.
However, his candidacy was dealt a blow when it was disclosed by the Daily Business Review that he was charged with driving under the influence in 2012. Those charges were reduced to reckless driving.
