The Deal: The Holland & Knight attorneys advised a syndicate of multinational banks to help Banistmo S.A., a Colombian bank, obtain a $400 million loan facility.
Details: In October 2013, Bancolombia purchased HSBC Panama for $2.1 billion and renamed it Banistmo. The acquisition led to a downgrade by Fitch Ratings Inc. in Banistmo's long- and short-term issuer default ratings. However, it also gave Bancolombia a dominant share of the Panamanian market.
