Former television judge David Young is the first to throw his hat in the ring for a seat being vacated by Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat in November 2016.

The judicial election isn't until November 2016, but former Miami-Dade Circuit Judge David Young is throwing his hat in the ring.
Young, 55, announced Wednesday on Facebook that he is running for the Group 39 seat held by Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat, who is not seeking re-election.
“This is where my passion is,” Young said. “Qualifying is not until April 2016, but it's a very big county, and you have to raise money.”
