As a formality, the state Judicial Qualifications Commission on Monday ended its ethics investigation of former Broward County Court Judge Gisele Pollack.

She resigned after the commission on Jan. 5 recommended removing her from office for being drunk on the bench twice and being charged with drunken driving after allegedly causing an injury accident. Pollack, a recovering alcoholic who had been suspended from the bench, joined the Broward public defender's office last month.

The Florida Bar launched an investigation of Pollack after JQC dropped its inquiry.
