Trucking Company Settles for $6.5M in Tow-Truck Driver's Highway Death
A trucking company pays a $6.5 million settlement after its driver kills a tow-truck driver on I-95.

The family of a tow-truck driver killed by a tractor-trailer on the shoulder of I-95 reached a $6.5 million pretrial settlement with the trucking company.
Kit Tappen was helping a stranded motorist in the emergency lane in St. Johns County at about 3 a.m. last June 28. He was hit when the tractor-trailer drifted into the emergency lane and hit him.
“The most important part of this is that the trucker violated the Move Over law,” said Craig Goldenfarb, a West Palm Beach personal injury trial lawyer who represented Tappen's family.
