The University of Florida has named Laura Ann Rosenbury dean of the Levin College of Law, making her the first female permanent dean in the law school's 106-year history.

Rosenbury, a professor at Washington University Law School in St. Louis since 2002, served as vice dean for research and faculty development from 2010 to 2012. She was the John S. Lehmann research professor in 2013-2014 and has been a member of the Association of American Law Schools membership review committee since 2014.

“Laura Rosenbury's outstanding scholarship and breadth of experience in administration made her the ideal candidate to lead the Levin College of Law,” provost Joe Glover said in a statement. “We have great confidence in the college's future under her leadership.”
