Dealmakers: Emilio J. Alvarez-Farre and Mark A. Lopez

The Deal: The Greenberg Traurig shareholders led a team that represented minority investor Infraestructura Internacional in the formation of Sierra Oil & Gas, Mexico's first private oil and gas company.

Their client, a private equity firm headquartered in Mexico City, invested $75 million in Sierra on Sept. 18, joining U.S.-based private equity firms Riverstone Holdings LLC and EnCap Investments LP, which each committed $225 million in funding.
