A Jacksonville federal judge has denied a request for sanctions against Holland & Knight sought by defendants in a trademark infringement case who claimed the law firm filed a frivolous suit.

The sanctions were sought by attorneys for Mobile Promotions Network LLC, operator of USDirectory.com, which was sued by Web.com Group, a Jacksonville-based web hosting, marketing and e-commerce website that is a direct competitor.

Attorneys for Mobile Promotions, Joshua Spector, Paul Turner and Brian Chaiken of Perlman, Bajandas, Yevoli & Albright in Fort Lauderdale, filed the sanctions motion Feb. 10, claiming the suit filed by Holland & Knight was frivolous.
